I'll admit right now that I am not a cook. I like to make things in the microwave, or go out to eat. I like eating out because I don't have to do anything except decide what I want. I also like to have a selection, and going out to eat provides that. HOWEVER - being newly weds and owning a new home, not to mention bills, we are unable to eat out as much as I would like. So, I have forced myself to learn to cook. I don't mind it too much because I can pretty much just zone out while I'm doing it and think about my day. The part I hate the most is cleaning up, mostly POTS. I hate cleaning pots and pans. And there are certain things that I make that are just delicious, but I'm scared to stray from what I know. One thing I can make that is easy is spaghetti. Meat, Sauce, Noodles - how hard can it be? For some reason, I can never get the amounts right. I either make too many noodles or too much sauce. EVERY time I make it, I get it wrong. So then we end up with left over meat sauce in the refrigerator. And then you say, "make more noodles." So, I make more noodles and then I have too many noodles in the refrigerator. I can't wait until the money starts coming in again and I can start eating out.....

It is indeed a vicious cycle. I have the same problem. I have figured out that 1/2 box of Spaghetti noodles will be about the right amount for one jar of sauce...but no promises.
